Undergraduate Student Placements
We place over 4,000 students each year in business and community programmes.. Placements vary from a few weeks to 18 months during the academic year, and the University supports both student and employer throughout.
"Placement students offer Mattel both intelligence and enthusiasm, while Mattel can in turn offer experience and team integration - thus forming a mutually beneficial partnership."
Marianne Sweetsur, Product Manager, Disney, Mattel UK. Ltd
Benefits to employers
Students can tackle tasks using specialist skills that lack of time or resources prevent businesses from carrying out. At the same time, the business benefits from up to date knowledge whilst potentially embarking on a valuable relationship with the University.
"The students work very hard during their time with us. We didn't start this scheme as a recruitment aid, we started it just to see how it would work. But we've found ourselves saying, well we know this young person, they've shaped up very well with us, lets give them a job."
Peter Smith, Director, Hill Martin Ltd
