Researchers' Forum

The UWE Researchers’ Forum is an important platform for all staff for whom promotion issues are dealt with through the Research Review and Progression Panel (RRPP), including Research Associates, Research Fellows and Senior Research Fellows.

The objectives of the forum are:

  • To provide a network for Research Staff to help ensure that they are fully informed about UWE's research and knowledge exchange policies as well as Human Resources policies and other developments which affect them.
  • To enable all Research Staff to share good practice and common issues across all Faculties, Research Institutes and Research Centres.
  • To provide a space to run development events specifically for research staff to support their career aspirations and be developed in research at UWE.

Several events have taken place to date and have received positive feedback from participants. For example, in September 2011 the event focused on getting your research noticed.

It has a planning group comprising of;

Glenn Lyons (Researchers’ Forum Convenor – Faculty of Environment and Technology)

Pam Fitzsimmons (Human Resources Manager – Projects and Staff Development)

Richard Bond (Head of Research and Development, Research, Business and Innovation)

Paul Spencer (Researcher Skills Development Officer, Research, Business and Innovation)

Danni Sinnett (Research Fellow, Faculty of Environment and Technology)

Toity Deave (Senior Research Fellow, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences)

Victoria Walters (Research Associate, Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education)

Sarah Leonard/Yvette Morey (Research Associate/Research Fellow, Faculty of Business and Law)
