Support for Research Staff at UWE

UWE has an increasing reputation nationally and internationally, as one of the leading and fastest growing post-92 universities for research, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary and collaborative research that makes a positive different to our economy and society. Research staff are the key to this success and UWE is committed to continually enhancing its support of researchers.

UWE has a number of initiatives targeted at researchers to support their career development. These include the Researchers’ Forum, a Women Researchers Mentoring Scheme and a programme of skills development events designed specifically for researchers.

UWE is also actively working towards the implementation of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers (2008) in partnership with research staff and their managers.

The European Commission has recognised UWE's progress on supporting the career development of researchers with the HR Excellence in Research Award in January 2012.
