Other Ways of Working with UWE

There are a variety of ways in which business and the community can work with UWE on research related projects.

Supporting UWE research and learning

UWE encourages companies and not for profit organisations to get involved in teaching and learning strategy through industrial advisory boards, visiting lectureships and sponsorship of research chairs. These interactions help companies to stay abreast of new developments in their business area.

Postgraduate Projects

Postgraduate students often look for organisational examples for their research. Where there is a fit with the academic agenda, this can provide a good opportunity for a company to have a specific problem or issue analysed at minimal cost over a three month period. North Somerset Agricultural Society, Bristol Zoo, Brandon Trust are all recent examples of organisations who have hosted projects by teams of MBA students from Bristol Business School looking at strategic choices to great benefit to their organisations.

Advisory Boards

A register is being developed of senior university staff who are willing to act as non executive directors on advisory boards for external organisations.

Whiteboarding

Flesh out your ideas for innovation with a group of academics with a range of expertise. This service can provide significant benefits at the planning stages of projects.
